How to add, use, and remove SpeakUp
Adding SpeakUp to your Zoom account
- Go to the SpeakUp homepage and click Add to Zoom, or find SpeakUp in the Zoom App Marketplace and click Add.
- You'll be asked to sign in to Zoom (if you aren't already) and approve the permissions SpeakUp requests.
- Once approved, you'll land on a confirmation page โ there's nothing else to set up.
Using SpeakUp in a meeting
- Start or join a Zoom meeting.
- Open the Apps panel from the meeting toolbar.
- Select SpeakUp from the list. It opens as a side panel inside the meeting.
- The panel shows every participant currently in the meeting, along with whether they've spoken yet.
- As people talk, their status updates automatically โ no action needed.
- Click ๐ฒ Pick next speaker at any time to randomly select someone who hasn't spoken yet. If everyone has already spoken, it picks from the full list instead.
SpeakUp only tracks activity while its panel is open during a live meeting. Closing the panel and reopening it resets the "spoken" status for that session.
Removing SpeakUp
- Go to the Zoom App Marketplace and sign in.
- Click your profile icon โ Manage โ Installed Apps, find SpeakUp, and click Remove.
- Once removed, SpeakUp no longer has access to your account, and it disappears from your meeting Apps panel.
